About Focus on Israel
Focus on Israel (FOI for short) is one of the oldest Christian ministries working in the Land of Israel. Our roots go back to the Pentecostal revival of the early 20th century and to the time of the British Mandate for Palestine, in the years between World Wars One and Two.
During our nearly one hundred years of history, our operations have varied. We have sent numerous field workers who set up, orphanages, ex-convict missions, a Bible bookshop in Jerusalem, operated a cross-cultural church congregation composed of Jews, Arabs and British ex-patriates, run a coffee bar for Israeli soldiers and undertaken social care, including holocaust survivours. We have also supported work on the Arab side of the Arab-Israeli divide that sadly still exists.
While our vision has always been the same, we have tried to be flexible in how we operate. We understand the importance of recognising the signs of the times and responding as the Lord would lead. Today our ministry both in the land and the UK is stronger than ever.
