I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service
of the Lord’s people there.  Romans 15:25

OUR DREAM HAS BEEN TO SEE AN ISRAELI MESSIANIC GROWTH IN THE LAND

For nearly 100 years Focus on Israel has been at the forefront of ministry in Israel, with a heart to share the message of Yeshua with all who live in the land. Thoughout those years we have witnessed many changes take place. In all this time, our desire is to see the emergence of a local Messianic movement who we could pass the baton on to.

Our emphasis is now to come alongside these young and vibrant Messianic and Arabic ministries in Israel, to support, network and build relationships between them and churches in the UK. In this section you will see some of the exciting work God is doing in His Land and among His people. You will also see a side of Israel that may surprise and amaze you, but where believers are labouring zealously to lead souls from all sectors of Israeli society to their Messiah. Below are just a few of the ministries that we support:

Over the past 30 years we have witnessed an amazing growth of Isreali believers throughout the land. Not long ago there were only a couple of messianic congregations and a few hundred people. Now there are hundreds of congregations and many thousands of committed believers.

WHAT ARE WE DOING NOW?

WE BELIEVE THAT WE ARE SEEING THIS MIRACLE HAPPEN!

THE ALLIANCE CHURCH

The Alliance Church, Jerusalem, is a growing and energetic congregation of Arab-speaking believers in the heart of the Old City (so much in the heart that their street isn't even on Google)!

Pastor Mazen Nasrawi became senior pastor in 2010. Under his ministry the church has planted a branch congregation in Beit Sahour on the edge of Bethlehem and opened a humanitarian NGO to minister practically to local people.  Pastor Mazen has welcomed a relationship with FOI and we look forward to introducing UK pastors and churches to his church's work.

Just as it can be difficult for a Jewish person to reveal that he or she has turned to Jesus, it can be hard for someone from a muslim background. Yet there is a hunger among many muslims as well as Jews for the reality of knowing God. In a crowded community like Jerusalem's Old City there is nowhere to hide if your new faith in Jesus becomes known, but this church has an active and growing outreach to their own brothers and sisters in the city and a desire to reach others beyond Jerusalem's borders.

CITY OF LIFE - SDEROT

The City of Life Congregation is located in Sderot, southern Israel less than a mile from the border with Gaza. It was founded by a young Jewish-believer from Latvia named Dina who came to Israel as a student and found herself leading a small group of other student believers in the Negev city of Sderot in 2000.In 2006 a young Jewish believer from Ukraine came to the area as a new immigrant and quickly connected with these students who, by then, had grown into the beginnings of  full-fledged Kehila (congregation) also containing young families.  It wasn?t long before a romance blossomed and the two were married. Today, Michael is the spiritual leader of Ir HaChayim (City of Life). Its name is very meaningful to the local community because Hamas terrorists vowed to turn Sderot into a city of death, wiping it off the map completely.

Sderot is known in Israel as The "Bomb Shelter Capital of the World" because of its numerous bomb shelters some of which are built in the form of Children's Play areas in school playgrounds. In this atmosphere of violence the Lord has placed this wonderful congregation as a beacon of light to share the Gospel, pray and declare that this  is a City of Life and hope.

The city has constantly been a target of Qassam rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip causing that at least 75 percent of children aged 4 -18 in Sderot suffer from post-traumatic stress, including sleeping disorders and severe anxiety.

Despite all of these issues, the congregation is tireless in its community activities. They are involved with Holocaust survivors, the needy, single families and many others - providing food, funds, diapers, school equipment, furniture and much more. They are also active within the community through home groups, counseling and humanitarian aid facilities and truly a place that offers abundant life and help to this needy community.

TREE OF LIFE - ISRAEL

Tree of Life Israel is a dynamic media ministry run by two brothers, their friend and a team they have gathered around them. Through videos and social media they are reaching thousands of Israelis with the Gospel and seeing increasing numbers respond to His message of life.

The Messianic community in Israel used to be by necessity quieter, less conspicuous, sensitive to public opposition and religious persecution from orthodox Jewish groups. But today's generation of Messianic leaders are moving forward regardless of opposition and the movement has found more favour from secular Israelis than used to be the case.

We encourage our supporters to get behind this ministry, which is attracting all ages and backgrounds of Israelis to their Messiah, Yeshua. Visit their website, join their newsletter and contribute to their ongoing mission.
